FrenchSRP

I found Pierre to be knowledgeable, enthusiastic, patient, and kind with my 9-year-old daughter. I highly recommend Pierre for his engaging style and excitement, as well as his knowledge as a native French speaker.  Emily

Pierre is a great French tutor and coach and I can’t recommend him enough. I’ve studied French on and off for the past 10+ years and have tried several private tutors along the way. I’ve tried folks that I found on Craigslist, folks that I’ve found via flyers, and even spent the big bucks for private sessions at the Alliance Française. Pierre has been the best, by a long shot. I’m convinced that I made more progress in my first three weeks of working with Pierre than in three months of working with any other tutor. I think the reason for this is that Pierre really took the time to understand my goals and challenges, and then he made sure that all of our time together was focused of making progress in those areas. And he’s very dedicated to making sure we’re having fun in the process.

My specific interest has been in developing greater comfort in conversation, and Pierre has been very creative in working with me on this. He has recommended a wide range of resources including films, videos and podcasts, and we talk about these; he’s had me read poetry, aloud, with him standing in another room; we’ve role played real situations that I’m likely to encounter in France this summer; it’s been a blast! Along the way, he corrects and encourages me, and I leave with a set of notes to study for next time.

If you’re considering hiring a private teacher to help you take your French to the next level, do yourself a favor and reach out to Pierre. He’s great!

Pierre is truly a great French tutor. I had the pleasure of working with him for a couple months before moving to Bordeaux, leading to a great foundation. Even after eight months in France, I am Skyping Pierre (in St. Louis) to continue my French lessons. He is that good!
Prepare to learn a lot and quickly with Pierre as your French tutor.

Turning a hobby into an overriding passion, his ability to tailor lessons to a student’s interests (in my case, culture and cinema) – with kindness, patience and humor – is outstanding. Merci beaucoup, Pierre!

I have had several French teachers over the past 25 years and Pierre ranks right at the top. He puts a great deal of effort into his teaching — using a variety of tools including up-to-the-minute podcasts and television programs — so it’s as though each lesson is “in France.” Magnifique!

Søren R. – Registered Nurse
After having been tutored in French, Japanese, and Spanish languages, Pierre stands out as one of the best tutors I have ever had. Through his use of media, acting, reading, and exam preparation, he is one of the most adaptable and dynamic tutors in all my experience. Conversations and lessons are non-threatening and you always have control over your learning.
He is multilingual and it is highly evident that he is able to actively reproduce the types of scenarios necessary for true language fluency.
For beginning and elementary learners, Pierre exemplifies the type of language instructor that I wish I had before I began studying French. From the first day on, his main goal is to get you to actively use French.
For intermediate and advanced learners, Pierre is extremely patient and effortlessly explains – slowly – in French, to help you understand either gaps or new vocabulary in the conversation. He is detail-oriented and immediately notes your common mistakes and is able to present challenges in a healthy flow of conversation. Common errors disappear as you “unlearn” bad habits…

Robert Fishbone – Entrepreneur and Motivational Speaker
When I signed up to exhibit at a trade show in Paris, held at The Louvre Museum , I was in desperate need of un Prof, a teacher. I was so lucky to get connected with Pierre. He was able to quickly evaluate my level of French (4 years in high school, 28 years prior), and help me create lesson plans based on what I would actually need to know and say at a trade show. He crafted specific lessons plans and every one of our meetings was fun. I could feel myself progress under his excellent tutoring week after week. Though my accent was already très bien pour un Américain, Pierre was able to help me refine it even more…and a good accent will get you a lot farther in Paris than good grammar or vocabulary, because it shows you are really making an attempt to speak the language.

I highly recommend Pierre as a French Tutor whatever your specific needs, and in whatever part of the French speaking world you are traveling to…what he teaches “sticks” – I still remember most of what I learned.

This past October my wife and I spent ten full days in Paris. It was our fourth visit, but we have never been so delighted with the city; this time we were guided every day by suggestions from Pierre: no flim, no flam, simply solid and thoughtful, appreciative suggestions. We were very pleased.
I am very happy to know that Pierre is seeking ways to share his love for France with a widening audience.
Whether he helps you with its beautiful language, or suggests a thoughtful tour of the Paris less known to ‘sightseers’ but cherished by natives and pilgrims, you will be well and richly served.
